It has a heavy brown patina and dark wood, Cracked in some spots. Numbers match all except the bolt. Just looking for a relative value of it. Any help, Or interest in the rifle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

I am a fan of C&R rifles like this one, so I did a little nosing around and found a couple of links for you to look at :

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =454600486

The gun broker listing starts at $599 and there are no bids...so that might be an upper limit or be over the value for the condition. It is the only one I could find on GB.

With an estimated production of around 5 million I doubt it would be considered rare. I am sure someone who is collecting would be interested. What they would pay would depend on how much they wanted it and condition.

That said, from the pictures posted I see not much of the finish is on the metal parts and the stock is cracked, not unexpected for the age. If I were in the market for a rifle like this, I would probably be in the range of $200-$300. I would want to look at the bore and see how well the action works before making any commitments.

To me the history that is represented by this rifle is as important and interesting as the rifle itself. Since I am not a serious collector I would probably not go over $275 unless there were some very interesting documentation included.

I usually don't like to make any valuations like this since I am just an amateur but I love history and could not keep quiet.

Nice piece of history you have there.

Thank you very much! I picked it up for 75 bucks. Action is smooth and bore is nice and shiny. No pitting that I can see. I don't see anything that looks newer, Regarding an "import" mark? I'm not sure though. Didn't realize how crap those pictures came out. haha, everything matches but the bolt :(

Your welcome! Just my amateur opinion. If it were mine I would keep it. Can't go wrong for $75.

So... the finish is better than the pictures show? Just curious.

Might make for a great cast bullet plinker. Easy shooting and won't beat the gun...
