Colt Commander/Officer's Model advice

When that wonderful tax refund check comes in, I was looking to get an officer's colt or a commander. I was just wondering if you gents could tell me of any common issues or things to watch out for. As I understand it, the officer is a small 1911 and the commander is a medium size. I can't imagine Colt selling a pistol that has feed or jamming issues, but I would definitely like to know that beforehand, it seems like I've heard some rumors before. Also, if anyone knows where I could get one, that would be helpful. I'm thinking a new one is out of my price range, I'm looking to be under $700 on this. Is that wishful thinking? Thanks in advance for your advice guys.

The Colt Officers I have was a little ammo sensitive at first, I polished the ramp and chamber and it has been flawless ever since, Wilson trigger rounds out the package.

I like it a lot
